Dakota 4X4 (activity indicator light)
I have a 1989 Dakota 3.9 liter 4X4..........there is an indicator light at the base of the 4X4 shift which is susposed to let you know when your in 4X4 mode ( light is on ) or not ( light is off ). This light is always active and I was wondering if anyone has ran into this situation before. I presume there is a sensor which reflects 4X4 mode activity in four wheel high..four wheel low and low range. Could someone also refer me to an illustration link....................thank you in advance for assistanceCool

the sensor should be located on or near the shifter... pull up the cover plate and have a look around
